Conclusions: Although the location of SRF and/or IRF were equally distributed at baseline, recurrent fluid was typically centrally located. We identified a subgroup of eyes exhibiting fluid recurrence in a different location than at baseline, potentially indicating new choroidal neovascularization.

Conclusions: These phenotypes are suitable for efforts to identify predictive biomarkers for response to anti-VEGF therapy for DME and might facilitate comparison of treatment response among diverse cohorts with DME.
A novel optical imaging probe for targeted visualization of NLRP3 inflammasomes in a mouse model of age-related macular degeneration
Source : https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fmed.2022.1047791/full
PurposeWet form of age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD) is a progressive vascular disease that mainly affects older adults and causes severe and irreversible vision loss. A key complication of wet...
Conclusions: We propose that InflammaProbe-1 may be a useful molecular imaging probe to monitor the onset, progression, and therapeutic response of AMD and other NLRP3-mediated diseases.
Onion ring sign on spectral domain optical coherence tomography in diabetic macular edema: Its evolution and outcomes - PubMed
Source : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36703256/
Horizontal, single or multi-layered HCDs on OCT in DM represent intraretinal or subretinal cholesterol crystal precipitates evolving from the hard exudates identical to the "onion ring sign" seen in neovascular...
Conclusions: Horizontal, single or multi-layered HCDs on OCT in DM represent intraretinal or subretinal cholesterol crystal precipitates evolving from the hard exudates identical to the “onion ring sign” seen in neovascular AMD. HCDs or CCs depict deranged lipid metabolism, chronic vascular leakage and can lead to substantial visual...
Acute macular neuroretinopathy secondary to central retinal artery occlusion
Source : https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2451993623000014?via=ihub
Acute Macular Neuroretinopathy (AMN) may be the result of deep retinal capillary plexus (DCP) impairment, but its mechanism remains elusive. A recent ...
Conclusions: Secondary development of AMN in CRAO is a new finding. DCP ischemia secondary to CRAO may lead to Henle fiber layer disruption, leading to the characteristic findings of AMN.
