Conclusions: In 2020, anti-VEGF prescriptions for AMD treatment decreased modestly in Victoria during both lockdowns and in Australia during the year. Decreases may represent reduced treatment because of COVID-19, including public health orders, patients’ self-limiting care, and ophthalmologists treating-and-extending to maximum intervals.
Efficacy of laser photocoagulation plus ranibizumab in patients with diabetic retinopathy and their effect on VEGF
Source : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9908459/
Objective: To investigate the efficacy of laser photocoagulation combined with ranibizumab in patients with diabetic retinopathy and their effect on VEGF. Methods: The medical records of 98 patients with diabetic...
Conclusions: Laser photocoagulation combined with ranibizumab may provide good therapeutic efficacy in diabetic retinopathy, by effectively improving neovascularization and reducing VEGF levels to control further progression of the lesions.

Conclusions: Significantly superior vision gain was observed with OPT-302 2.0 mg combination therapy, versus standard of care, with favorable safety.
Optical coherence tomography and Scheimpflug imaging of the iridocorneal angle following intravitreal injection of different medications: A longitudinal analysis
Source : https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1572100023000479?via=ihub
Intravitreal injection of medications induces a sudden increase in posterior segment volume and pushes iris plane anteriorly to narrow iridocorneal angle. The aim of this study to follow and define...
Conclusions: Dexamethasone implants induced widening of iridocorneal angle that persisted at the post-injection 1st month both at nasal and temporal quadrants. However, intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF agents did not have a comparable effect on iridocorneal angle.
Managing exudative age-related macular degeneration | OPTH
Anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) injections are the first-line therapy in the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD). AMD is a chronic and progressive degenerative disorder of the macula...
Conclusions: Despite similar baseline criteria for injections by the retina specialists, different anti-VEGF injection regimens were practiced resulting in variations in BCVA and CMT outcomes. This suggests a need in establishing a universally adoptable injection regimen with possible integration of the confounding factors to reduce burden on...
